WARRENDER WATER POLO PLAYER PROFILES


HEAD COACH - Dave Gauldie
1. David Armstrong. A strong and agile goalkeeper, David has represented GB at Junior level. With accurate long passing and a great shot stopper, David has proved himself to be the number 1 goalkeeper in Scotland for the past 2 seasons.
2. Kerr Young. Kerr doubles as our goalkeeper in Davids absence. A tall and strong right handed player with a powerfull outside shot. Kerr has been an important member of the Warrender team for the past 6 seasons.
3. Dave Gauldie. Canadian Dave came to Warrender in 2003. Brother of ex player Stephen Gauldie, Dave's experience and brute force as a centre forward provides the team with goals and hard work. Dave has played and fought against some of the toughest opponents in the sport. Dave is also Head Coach for the Senior Team.
4. Greig Young. Has been a member of the team for the past 8 seasons, Greig is a first team regular weighing in with goals and a strong pyhsical presence.
5. Callum MacGregor. Team Captain. Callum has represented Scotland at all levels across Europe. A goal scorer and a strong pit player with a powerfull outside shot. Current Warrender and Scotland Player of the Year.
6. Ross Johnstone. Ex GB squad and Scotland Junior regular offers the team a superb presence as a centre forward. A certain first 7 pick with great strength and fitness.
7. Martyn Bryce. Martyn was brought through the ranks as the Junior team captain 3 seasons ago. A strong shooter from 6 metres with a good water polo brain, Martin will be a member of the team for a long time to come.
8. Derek Docherty. The team "old boy". Dereks experience within the game is second to none. Derek has represented Scotland at all levels throughout his career and was recently voted Scottish Player of the year.
9. Duncan MacGregor. An ex Scotland squad member, Duncan is a regular within the team. An excellent all round player.
10. Neal Rayner. Pit defender with vast experience. Neal is an All-American having played for UCLA in the States. Neals experience is vital to the team. Neal has also swam the English Channel.
11. Jamie Murray. Superb outside accurate shooter, Jamie is one of the youngest members of the team. An ex GB youth player.
12. Antonio Malfense-Fierro. Another player with an excellent outside shot. South African Antonio is ex captain of the Edinburgh University team taking them to the BUSA finals in 2007.
13. Jonny Hepburn. Jonny has played with the team for about 10 seasons. A good defensive player, Jonny is a regular within the team.
14. Ivan Rybtsov. Russian Ivan has only started playing Water Polo but has picked the basics up off the game very quickly. We expect Ivan to be making an impression on the team and the game within the next few years. Current Junior "Players" Player of ther Year.
15. Simon Kosmicki. Hailing from Poland, Simon has given the team strength in depth. A good physical presence who can read the game well.
